Textbook Buyback

We understand that many students do not want or need their textbooks after completing a course. Instead of letting the book collect dust on a shelf, or trading it to a friend for their pudding cup, students have a chance to sell their books for CASH.

We try to help students recover their textbook costs as much as we can. This is why we team up with MBS Textbook Exchange, the nation’s largest textbook wholesaler, to give students the best chance of getting money for their books.

How Buyback Works

The value of a used textbook can depend on numerous factors. The most important one is whether the book is being used again in upcoming semesters.

This will determine whether the book is sold retail or wholesale.

Maximizing Your Money

In nearly all cases, students receive more money from retail buyback. However, there are some very important tips to remember:

  • DON’T WAIT TOO LONG – We only buy a certain number of books, and prices often decrease as we fill up on our needed quantities. We usually have our quotas filled by the end of finals week. The sooner you come in, the better off you’ll be.

  • KEEP EVERYTHING– Don’t discard any CDs, DVDs, or other materials that originally came with your book. There are some book packages that require extra pieces, and if these are missing, we may not buy it.

  • TAKE CARE OF YOUR BOOKS– Highlighting and minimal writing is okay, but excessive wear can make your book unsellable. Avoid water damage, heavy wear and tear, torn pages or covers, and excessive markings.

  • TAKE NOTE OF THE BOOK’S EDITION– Newer editions usually have a higher buyback value. There are usually a lot of copies of older editions in circulation, and less people will be using them.

  • ENCOURAGE YOUR PROFESSORS– We don’t know if a book is being used in coming semesters if the professor doesn’t tell us such. The more textbook adoptions we receive from professors, the more we can buy during buyback! It never hurts to let your professor know if you enjoyed the textbook, either.

Wholesale Prices

Essentially, the wholesale buyback prices reflect the current national market value. Obviously, these prices vary, depending on national demand for the book, edition of the book, and quantity in circulation.

Getting Price Quotes

We recommend checking current wholesale prices by visiting our online buyback page. Customers can also login to their account and go to “View My Buyback Alert List” to see if any previously ordered books are being purchased retail. Otherwise, feel free to call or email us with a list of ISBNs, and we can provide current quotes.
